Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian hold bilateral meetings with the Foreign Ministers of Latvia and Honduras

In Geneva Edward Nalbandian had a meeting with Edgars Rinkēvičs, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Latvia.

The Ministers commended the friendly partnership established between the two countries underlining that there is a potential and willingness for their further development.

In the context of the Latvian Presidency in the EU during the first half of 2015, the Armenian and Latvian Foreign Ministers had an exchange of thoughts on Armenia-EU relations stressing the importance of developing cooperation in all areas of mutual interest.

During the meeting the sides touched upon the enhancement of collaboration in the framework of international organizations.

Edgars Rinkēvičs invited Edward Nalbandian to pay an official visit to Riga.

In Geneva Minister Nalbandian met with Mireya Agüero de Corrales, State Secretary of Foreign Relations of Honduras.

During the meeting the sides exchanged views concerning possibilities of developing bilateral relations.

Edward Nalbandian presented the efforts of Armenia and international community towards the peaceful settlement of Nagorno-Karabakh issue stressing the importance of supporting the efforts of the OSCE Minsk Group.

In this context Minister Nalbandian underlined that neglecting and opposing the position of the international community on Nagorno-Karabakh which has reflected in the Statements by the Presidents of the OSCE Minsk Group Member-States, Azerbaijan has an intention to distract domestic and international public opinion. The Armenian Foreign Minister said that for that goal Azerbaijan, by using different methods, tries to provide adoption of falsified statements in certain countries which undermine the negotiation process and the efforts of the Co-Chairs towards the settlement of the issue.

The Ministers agreed to activate the contacts between the two countries and accrediting Ambassadors in Yerevan and Tegucigalpa.
