On May 30 Foreign Minister of RA Edward Nalbandian met the Catholicos Patriarch of Cilicia of the Armenian Catholics Nerses Bedros XIX.

Welcoming the Catholicos Patriarch of Cilicia of the Armenian Catholics Edward Nalbandian said, “I remember with particular warmth our personal friendship that was established in Cairo during my service as an Ambassador. After Egypt we also met on numerous occasions. I am glad to welcome you in Armenia today. I would like to take the opportunity and once again express my gratitude for the contribution to the opening of the Embassy of Armenia to Egypt”.

Edward Nalbandian presented to the Catholicos Patriarch of Cilicia of the Armenian Catholics the main directions and priorities of Armenia's foreign policy. Special emphasis was made on the current situation of Syrian Armenians and issues related to provided assistance.

The Foreign Minister and the Catholicos Patriarch of Cilicia of the Armenian Catholics exchanged thoughts over the events planned in the frameworks of Commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, highlighted the importance of close cooperation and coordination of efforts exerted by Armenia and the Diaspora structures.
