Foreign Minister of Armenia delivered a speech at the Meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the North Atlantic Council with non-NATO ISAF Contributing Nations

On June 25 Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian participated and delivered a speech at the Meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the North Atlantic Council with non-NATO ISAF Contributing Nations in Brussels.

Around 50 FMs of NATO member states and ISAF Contributing Nations took part at the meeting devoted to the current situation in Afghanistan and the anticipated activities of the international community.

In his speech at the meeting, the Minister of Foreign Affairs mentioned that consistent efforts have been exerted by the international community towards the establishment of security and stability in Afghanistan, and now that the maintenance of security rests with the Afghan national security forces, it is important to provide appropriate assistance to them to carry out that mission efficiently.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of RA expressed hope that it was possible to face post-election challenges which emerged in Afghanistan through constructive approaches acceptable to each party, thus paving the way for the establishment of stability and security provision.

Minister Nalbandian reassured Armenia’s commitment to continue its support to the joint international efforts for the establishment of security and national solidarity in Afghanistan.
