On July 29 Foreign Minister of the Republic of Armenia Edward Nalbandian met the Minister of Employment and Social Development, the Minister for Multiculturalism Jason Kenney who is paying a working visit to Armenia.

Welcoming the guest, Minister Nalbandian commended the warm and friendly relations and close political dialogue established between Armenia and Canada, as well as attached importance to their further development and deepening.

The role of the Canadian-Armenian community as an important bridge connecting both states was underlined.

In the context of multicultural cooperation Minister Nalbandian highlighted the close cooperation within the International Organization of La Francophonie.

During the meeting the sides touched upon a wide range of international and regional issues.

Minister Nalbandian expressed gratitude for the recognition of the Armenian Genocide by Canada in 2004. He stressed that Armenia highly appreciates the annual addresses on April 24 by the Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper.
