On July 29 the session of the Armenian National Commission for UNESCO took place at the MFA. The President of the National Commission, Minister of Foreign Affairs Edward Nalbandian chaired the session.

Minister of Culture of the Republic of Armenia Hasmik Poghosyan, Minister of Economy Karen Chshmaritian, Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs Gabriel Ghazaryan, representatives of the Administration of the President and the Government, Ministry of Education and Science, as well as National Academy of Sciences of Armenia, Yerevan City Hall, Holy See of St. Etchmiadzin and Matenadaran (the Mesrop Mashtots Institute of Ancient Manuscripts) also took part in the session.

During the session the participants discussed and approved the New Charter and the composition of the National Commission, touched upon the works by the Commission, and forthcoming issues and plans.
