Foreign Minister received the EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the crisis in Georgia

On October 16 Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian received Herbert Salber, EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the crisis in Georgia.

During the meeting the sides had an exchange of views concerning the pressing regional issues.

The sides discussed questions related Nagorno-Karabakh peace process and touched upon the upcoming meeting between the Presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan at the end of October.

Minister Nalbandian drew the attention of the EU Special Representative on the multiple increase of ceasefire violations by the Azerbaijani side on the eve of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs visit and the Paris meeting of the Presidents, which is having a negative impact on the negotiation process.

The EU special representative emphasized that the EU is interested in peaceful settlement of the existing conflicts in the region and supports the efforts of the OSCE Minsk Group towards the peaceful resolution of Nagorno-Karabakh issue.
