Consultation of the ambassadors of Armenia in Europe

On December 6 in Paris Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian held the traditional consultation with the Armenian Ambassadors and Permanent Representatives accredited to the European countries and international organizations.

In the course of the consultation the participants touched upon the implementation of the assignments of the President of Armenia presented during the meeting with the MFA central staff and heads of diplomatic missions held in June in Yerevan.

The heads of diplomatic missions of Armenia presented the ongoing processes and steps to be undertaken towards the enhancement of the relations between Armenia and their accredited countries as well as international organisations.

Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian discussed with the ambassadors the recent developments in the foreign policy of Armenia, summarized the activities of 2014, the results of the OSCE Ministerial Council held earlier in Basel and gave respective instructions for the works to be done during the following year.

In the agenda of the meeting was the situation created in the Nagorno-Karabakh settlement process as a result of the provocative actions of Azerbaijan. In this regard the joint efforts of Armenia and OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs aimed at exclusively peaceful settlement of the conflict were in the agenda as well.

The participants touched upon the organization of the events dedicated to the Centennial of Armenian Genocide.

In the course of the meeting the participants discussed in detail issues related to the the works of diplomatic missions towards foreign economic policy as well as the steps aimed at the development of trade-economic relations with partner countries.

At the meeting the importance of further enhancement of political dialogue with European countries and structures was particularly highlighted, in the framework of activities of the embassies the development of the inter-parliamentary ties, the widening of decentralized cooperation, the works with the public and information structures of the receiving states were touched upon.
