07 February, 2015

On February 7, Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian, who is participating in the Munich Security Conference, met with Ivica Dačić, the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, First Deputy Prime Minister as well as the Foreign Minister of Serbia.

Minister Nalbandian congratulated his Serbian counterpart on the occasion of assuming the OSCE Chairmanship since January 1 and expressed the support of Armenia to Serbia’s OSCE chairmanship in the implementation of its priorities.

In the course of the meeting the OSCE agenda as well as security issues of the OSCE space were touched upon.

The ministers discussed issues related to the process of the settlement of Nagorno-Karabakh issue and in that context the support of chairmanship to the efforts of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs. The OSCE Chairperson-in-Office expressed his deep concern over the rise of tension along the Line of Contact and attached importance to full adherence to cease-fire regime anticipated by the agreement of 1994 in May.

The Minister underlines that despite the numerous calls of the Presidents of Co-Chair countries, Baku continues its maximalist approach leading the negotiation process to a deadlock.

The dynamics of the development of Armenian-Serbian relations as well as steps aimed at their strengthening were touched upon.

Edward Nalbandian invited Ivica Dačić to visit Armenia.
