Concert dedicated to Centennial of Armenian Genocide held in Tehran

On February 22, concert dedicated to Centennial of Armenian Genocide was held in Tehran, at “Komitas” hall of “Ararat” Armenian Cultural Organization, on the initiative of Committee of Armenian Diocese of Tehran, in cooperation with Embassy of Armenia to Iran.

Political, public and cultural figures, diplomats and journalists took part at the event.

Ambassador of Uruguay to Armenia Juan Carlos Ojeda (residence in Tehran) making a statement before the start, particularly, mentioned, “Entire people of Uruguay is confident that by remembering and condemning Armenian Genocide further possible acts of genocide can be prevented. Unfortunately, till present the world continues to witness continuing crimes against humanity. Uruguay is confident that dialogue and people-to-people contacts will prevent religious and ethnic conflicts”.

During the event a short film about Armenian Genocide was shown. After that the melody of Komitas was performed by a string quartet. "Mashtots" orchestra performed opera areas, folk, classic and spiritual songs.
