Concert dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide in Buenos Aires

On March 28, a concert dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, entitled “With you, Armenia” conducted by Argentinean Armenian Santiago Chotsourian was organized at the square, next to “Monumento de los Españoles” (Spanish monument). Argentinean Centennial Central Body and the Embassy of Armenia in Argentina organized the concert, under auspices of Deputy Secretariat of Buenos Aires City Council for Human Rights and Cultural Diversity.

The Minister of Culture of Argentina Hernan Lombardi, Deputy Secretary of Buenos Aires City Council for Human Rights and Cultural Diversity Claudio Avruj, Ambassador of Armenia to Argentina Alexan Harutyunyan, representatives of Armenian community structures of Argentina, representatives of political, cultural, scientific circles and academia, public figures and politicians, diplomats and journalists attended the event.

During the concert, works by Aram Khachaturian, Arno Babajanian, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Giuseppe Verdi, Astor Piazzolla, Alberto Ginastera, Mikhail Ippolitov-Ivanov were performed.

State Youth Choir of Argentina and State Choir of Blind performed “Pour toi Arménie” (For You, Armenia) by Charles Aznavour and Georges Garvarentz.
