Foreign Minister of Armenia participated in the session of Commonwealth of Independent States’ Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs

On April 3, Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian participated in the session of Commonwealth of Independent States’ Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs in Bishkek.

Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Commonwealth of Independent States member-states discussed and agreed upon drafts of 14 documents on cooperation in different areas in the frameworks of the CIS.

Ministers agreed on Programme of consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs in the framework of CIS in 2015.

Foreign Ministers of the CIS member-states agreed upon the General programme of events of cultural cooperation of the CIS member-states in 2016-2020, that counts to 120.

During the session documents on cooperation of CIS members in border security and emergency situations areas were agreed upon. A range of documents in culture were agreed upon.

Foreign Ministers discussed issues on the agenda of the CIS activities.

Armenia, Russia, Tajikistan, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan adopted Statement on the 40th anniversary of the signing of Helsinki Final Act that restates the Concept of mutually beneficial cooperation in equal, inalienable and comprehensive security, without dividing lines and closed borders from Vancouver to Vladivostok, unacceptability of violation of Helsinki principles, selective approach towards implementation of those principles, imposition of unilateral sanctions, including blockade, strengthening of one's own security at the expense of other countries. The statement stresses the importance of exclusively peaceful settlement of the conflicts within agreed upon formats; underlines dialogue between different integration unions throughout the territory of the OSCE as an indispensable condition for guaranteeing regional integration and cooperation.
