Event in Hauts-de-Seine, France, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide

On April 11, solemn ceremony of unveiling of monument "Eagle of Armenia", dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, by sculptor Toros Rast Klan was held on the initiative of President of the General Council of Hauts-de-Seine department, France, member of the French Parliament Patrick Devedjian at "So" gardens of Hauts-de-Seine.

Mayor of Antony Jean-Yves Senant, Ambassador of Armenia to France Vigen Chitechian, Co-chairmen of the Coordinating Council Armenian Organizations of France (CCAF) Murad Papazian and Ara Toranian, Head of the Armenian-French Club of Antony Visame Nemen, local authorities and numerous representatives of the French-Armenian structures, politicians and public figures, diplomats, journalists and representatives of the Armenian community attended the event.

In his remarks, Ambassador Chitechian expressed gratitude to Patrick Devedjian for the initiative and to sculptor Toros Rast Klan for his magnificent work.

Reflecting on the decentralized cooperation of administrative units and local authorities, Ambassador Chitechian commended recently established official friendly cooperation between Antony city and Davtashen administrative district of Yerevan.

“Attention attached to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide is a testimony of commitment to the universal values”, mentioned the Ambassador, addressing the municipal and department authorities.
