Event dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide in Toronto, Canada

On April 12, “Blood for Memory” initiative commenced in Toronto, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. The initiative is supervised by the Armenian Canadian Medical Association of Ontario and the Embassy of Armenia in Canada, in cooperation with Canadian Blood Services.

The aim of the initiative is to gather 1.5 million pints of blood in 2015, symbolizing the number of the victims of the Armenian Genocide. The initiative, started at the Armenian Centre of Toronto. Ambassador of Armenia to Canada Armen Yeganian opened the event and was the first to donate blood.

The initiative is set to continue in other cities of Canada.
