House of Representatives and Senate of Nevada state, USA, adopted Resolution on Recognition recognizing the Armenian Genocide

On April 14, House of Representatives and Senate of Nevada state adopted Resolution recognizing the Armenian Genocide.

In the Document members of the Parliament consider crime, committed against the Armenians in 1915-1923 in the Ottoman Empire as the first genocide of the 20th century and call on the USA President and Congress to recognize historic reality.

Representatives of the Armenian community, Vice Consul of Armenia Valeri Mkrtumyan, leaders of community structures participated at the sessions of two chambers of the State Parliament as honorary guests.

In his remarks, Valeri Mkrtumyan mentioned that Turkey’s denial of the Armenian Genocide is expression of contempt not only towards to the Armenians but also towards the truth, justice and humanity. On the behalf of the Government of Armenia he expressed gratitude to the Members of State Parliament for commitment to the universal values.

Consulate General of Armenia in Los-Angeles, Honorary Consul of Armenia in Las Vegas Adrushan Armenyan, ANCA Local Office and community leaders had an input in the adoption of the Document.
