Foreign Minister received German Bundestag Delegation

On April 16, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Edward Nalbandian received members of German Bundestag Martin Petzold and Tancred Schipanski.

Minister Nalbandian welcomed the visit of a member of German Bundestag of Armenian origin Martin Petzold and his counterpart Tancred Schipanski, stressing that active inter-parliamentary cooperation plays an important role in high-level Armenian-German relations.

Expressing gratitude for the reception, Martin Petzold mentioned that it is symbolic to visit Armenia in the capacity of a member of the Bundestag and contribute to the development of the Armenian-German relations.

At the meeting, thoughts were exchanged on Armenia-European Union cooperation.

Minister Nalbandian presented to the guest the schedule of events on the Centenary of the Armenian Genocide to be organized in Armenia and around the globe.

The Parliamentarians informed that Bundestag will conduct special session, dedicated to the Centenary of the Armenian Genocide on April 24.

During the meeting, a range of international and regional issues were touched upon. Views were exchanged on the Ukrainian crisis; progress made in the negotiations on Iran nuclear program, and as a result expected developments in the region.
