Exhibition dedicated to the Centenary of the Armenian Genocide in Warsaw

On April 15-16, exhibitions, dedicated to the Centenary of the Armenian Genocide were opened in Warsaw: second retrospective “Flowers waterfall” by Armenian painter Gagik Parsamanyan, resident of Poland, and “Armenian brides” by Armenian painter Adel Hayrapetyan and Gagik Parsamanyan’s paintings, entitled “Flowers waterfall” joint exhibition at the City Hall of Warsaw. The latter was organized under the auspices of Ambassador of Armenia to Poland Edgar Ghazaryan and head of Mazowiecki region Jacek Kozłowski, who addressed the attendees with welcoming remarks.

Ambassador Ghazaryan, first and second Ambassadors of Poland to Armenia, Mr. Knoten and Mr. Rachinski, Vice-President of Polish Armenian Culture and Heritage Foundation Armen Artvich, politicians, public figures, representatives of Polish TV and radio, Armenian Cultural foundations and NGOs, Polish intelligentsia, artists and journalists were at the attendance.

Welcoming attendance by the high-level guests and expressing gratitude to painters Adel Hayrapetyan and Gagik Parsamanyan for the initiative, Ambassador Ghazaryan noted, that similar events create an opportunity not only to cross introduce Armenian and Polish culture to the two peoples, but also continue friendly communication and contribute in addressing each other’s issues.

Ambassador presented to the attendees positions of the Armenian people on recognition and condemnation of the Armenian Genocide, at the same time expressing his gratitude and one on the behalf of the Armenian people to the Polish people and Government of Poland that along with range of states, recognized and condemned the Armenian Genocide. Ambassador expressed his appreciation to the Government and people of Poland for attention to the Armenian community, which contributes to enrichment of the Armenian culture, national-religious traditions and activation of life of community, as well as preservation of Armenian identity.

During the exhibition Sona Matevosyan, young opera singer, resident of Poland, performed works by Komitas.
