Conference on the Centenary of the Armenian Genocide in Moscow

On April 17, a conference, entitled “Crime that has no statute of limitations. On the eve of the Centenary of the Armenian Genocide” was held at hotel “President”, Moscow, on the initiative of Russian Institute for CIS Countries, Public Chamber of Russia and the Union of Armenians of Russia. Ambassador of Armenia to Russia Oleg Yesaian, Permanent Representative of NKR to Russia Albert Andryan, President of the Union of Armenians in Russia Ara Abrahamyan, Director of Russian Institute for CIS Countries, member of Public Chamber of Russia Konstantin Zatulin, experts at Universities of Moscow and Research Centers, renowned political scientists, diplomats and journalists were in attendance.

In his welcoming remarks, Ambassador Yesaian reflected on the activity by Russia Centennial Central Body, mentioned implemented initiatives. The Ambassador noted the importance of organization of conference dedicated to the Centenary of the Armenian Genocide, as platform for presentation of scientific reports and analyses on the Great Crime and for holding of expert discussions on prevention of acts of genocide. “We will continue this process aimed at the international recognition of the Armenian Genocide, as this is the issue of our security. In the end, as nation, survived the Genocide, we are responsibility not only to our future generation. I am confident that the Armenian people should become soldier on the frontline in this fight”, mentioned Ambassador Yesaian.

President of the Union of Armenians of Russia Ara Abrahamyan, Director of Russian Institute for CIS Countries Konstantin Zatulin, Co-chairman of the Russian Research and Educational Holocaust Center in Moscow Ilya Altman and others delivered messages. Later, thematic reports were presented by prominent Russian experts.
