On April 24, Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Ashot Hovakimian met Deputy Foreign Minister of the Eastern Republic of Uruguay Jose Luis Cancela, who heads the delegation of his state at the events, dedicated to the Armenian Genocide Centenary.

During the meeting, wide range of issues of the development of Armenian-Uruguayan relations were reflected on. The two attached special importance to the continuation of consultations between Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Armenia and Uruguay, active cooperation within international organizations, deepening of public diplomacy between two states. Ashot Hovakimian thoroughly touched upon the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh issue, as well as other regional issues.

partaking in Global Forum “Against the Crime of Genocide”, Second Vice-President of Chamber of Deputies of the National Congress of Chile Denise Pascal was held. The sides commended activation of Armenian-Chilean relations, placed significance to continuation of active political dialogue, development of cooperation in different fields between states. Ashot Hovakimian expressed gratitude on the adoption on April 14, 2015, of Resolution recognizing and condemning the Armenian Genocide by the Chamber of Deputies, which concluded recognition of the Armenian Genocide by Chile in 2007.
