Meeting between Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Slovakia

On May 15, Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian, who pays an official visit to Bratislava, met Miroslav Lajčák, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic.

The Ministers discussed wide range of issue of bilateral relations, i.e. expansion of legal framework, activation of trade and economic exchanges, steps to be undertaken for the development of cooperation in the fields of education and energy.

Ministers Nalbandian and Lajčák agreed upon holding of regular consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of two states.

Armenia-European Union relations, preparatory works to the Riga Summit were on the agenda of negotiations.

Minister Nalbandian presented the efforts exerted by Armenia and OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs towards settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh issue.

The sides exchanged thoughts on the Ukrainian crisis and ways to resolve it.

After the meeting Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Slovakia signed an agreement on avoidance of double taxation with respect to income and property.
