On May 21, Ambassador of Armenia to Sweden Artak Apitonian met Minister for Justice and Migration of Sweden Morgan Johansson.

During the meeting, issues of improvement of the field of justice, particularly judicial and penitentiary systems, prospects of tabling and implementation of bilateral cooperation programs for strengthening of civil society, protection of human rights and fight against corruption were reflected on.

Ambassador Apitonian attached importance to practical steps for the introduction in Armenia of the best practices of Sweden in the field of justice.

The sides expressed satisfaction with the substantial results achieved in Armenian-Swedish cooperation in the field of migration, and discussed the perspectives of its further expansion. In this regard, the importance of realization by two countries of a bilateral implementation of Protocol of the Agreement between the EU and Armenia on the readmission of persons residing without authorization was emphasized.
