On June 3, Foreign Minister of Armenia Edward Nalbandian met with OSCE Chairman in Office, First Deputy Prime-Minister , Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, Ivica Dačić

The meeting started with a bilateral format during which issues on Armenian-Serbian agenda were discussed.

Welcoming the guest, Minister Nalbandian attached importance to the frequent meetings in the framework of bilateral and multilateral formats which are vivid examples of high level inter-state relations.

Thanking for the reception and hospitality, Minister Dačić highlighted that Armenia and Serbia are brotherly states and attached importance to the further expansion and strengthening of bilateral relations.

The centuries-old friendship that unites Armenia and Serbia was mutually appreciated.

Foreign Minister of Armenia stated that the practical reflection of that friendship was the participation of the President of Serbia Tomislav Nikolić in the Armenian Genocide Centennial commemorations in Yerevan.

Foreign Ministers discussed the steps undertaken for development and enlargement of bilateral cooperation. It was stated with satisfaction that practical steps are undertaken to implement the agreements. The establishment of diplomatic missions both in Yerevan and in Belgrade, the strengthening of legal basis as well as the works on visa liberalization regime were also touched upon.

During the meeting issues related to the activation of trade and economic, cultural as well as inter-parliamentary ties were discussed.

After the meeting of bilateral format Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Serbia signed a Memorandum on the cooperation between the Foreign Ministries of the two countries which envisages holding of regular political consultations.

Then the meeting in the framework of OSCE with the participation of the representatives of OSCE Secretariat and Serbian Chairmanship took place.


During the negotiations between Foreign Minister of Armenia and OSCE CIO issues on the Organization’s agenda were discussed. Edward Nalbandian reaffirmed Armenia’s support to the implementation of Serbia’s priorities in the OSCE.

Ivica Dačić highly appreciated the productive cooperation between the Armenian authorities and different structures of OSCE, including the Organization’s office in Yerevan.

Pressing issues related to the OSCE region were discussed. The crisis in Ukraine as well as the steps of the OSCE to resolve it were touched upon. The necessity of the fulfillment of Minsk agreements was stressed. The sides discussed the preliminary works of the OSCE Ministerial Council to be held at the end of this year in Belgrade.

The Nagorno-Karabakh settlement issue as well as the efforts of Armenia and OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs towards that direction were discussed in detail. Ivica Dačić reaffirmed Serbian Chairmanship’s complete support to the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs.
