Foreign Minister received the Deputy Foreign Minister of Iran

On June 11 Foreign Minister of Armenia Edward Nalbandian received the Deputy Foreign Minister of Iran Ibrahim Rahimpour, who visited Yerevan to participate in the inter-agency consultations.

Welcoming the guest, Minister Nalbandian highlighted that Armenia and Iran are tied with traditionally warm, mutually beneficial relations which are reflected in the high level inter-state dialogue as well as in the active interaction in various fields.

Expressing gratitude for the reception, Deputy Foreign Minister Rahimpour conveyed to Edward Nalbandian good wishes of Foreign Minister of Iran Mohammad Javad Zarif. Ibrahim Rahimpour stressed that Iran attaches importance to the strengthening of friendly relations and enhancing of cooperation with neighbouring Armenia.

The sides touched upon numerous topics of bilateral agenda, highlighted cooperation in inter-parliamentary format, discussed steps aimed at development of Armenia - Iran trade cooperation. In this context the realization of transport and energy projects was discussed.

The sides exchanged views on several pressing international and regional issues.

Deputy Minister Rahimpour presented to Armenia’s Foreign Minister the recent developments of the negotiation process on Iran’s nuclear program.

Minister Nalbandian presented efforts aimed at peaceful resolution of Nagorno-Karabakh issue.
