On June 12 Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian received the representative delegation of Iran-Armenia parliamentary friendship group of Iran's Majlis headed by Ali Kaidi, the head of the group.

Welcoming the guests, Minister Nalbandian highlighted Armenian - Iranian good-neighbourly relations attaching importance to periodic political dialogue at the level of executive authorities, as well as parliaments.

Expressing gratitude for the warm welcome the head of Iran's parliamentary delegation conveyed to Edward Nalbandian greetings from the President of Majlis Ali Larijani. He stressed that century old friendly relations between Iran and Armenia lay favourable basis for the development of cooperation in various fields.

During the meeting the role of inter-parliamentary friendship groups in strengthening and enhancing of relations between the two countries was highlighted.

Minister Nalbandian expressed gratitude in regard to the thoughtful attitude of Iran's authorities towards the Iranian-Armenian community and Armenian cultural heritage in Iran. In this context the Foreign Minister attached importance to the presence of Iranian-Armenian MPs in Iran's Parliament.

Ali Kaidi presented the position of Iran's Majlis on Iran's Nuclear Program, the negotiation process over it.

The sides exchanged views on a number of pressing regional issues.
