Armenia’s Foreign Minister received Special Envoy of Foreign Ministry of China

On June 15 Foreign Minister of Armenia Edward Nalbandian received Zhao Xidi, Special Envoy of Foreign Ministry of China, the first Ambassador of China to Armenia.

Welcoming the guest, Minister Nalbandian considered the visit of the first Ambassador of China to Armenia in the capacity of Special Envoy of China’s Foreign Ministry as symbolic, stressing that the Ambassador up till now has brought his contribution to the enhancement of Armenian-Chinese Friendship.

Expressing gratitude for the reception Ambassador Xidi conveyed to Edward Nalbandian greetings from Foreign Minister of China Wang Yi and pointed out that he is happy to be in Armenia again as Special Envoy of China’s Foreign Ministry.

The sides highly appreciated the dynamic relationship between Armenia and China and highlighted that the state visit of the President of Armenia to China this March gave a new impetus to the multi-sectoral Armenian-Chinese cooperation.

Armenia’s Foreign Minister expressed gratitude for China’s continued support to Armenia since the Independence.

The sides exchanged views on the interaction within the International Organizations, touched upon the process of UN reforms.

Minister Nalbandian presented the efforts towards the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh issue. In this context Ambassador Xidi reaffirmed the support of China to the efforts towards peaceful resolution of the issue.
