On June 26, Foreign Minister of the Republic of Armenia Edward Nalbandian received Reinhold Lopatka, the Leader of Austrian People’s Party Parliamentary Group of Austria’s National Council.

Welcoming the guest, Minister Nalbandian highlighted the current level of Armenian - Austrian relations stressing the importance of their intensification in the parliamentary format.

Expressing gratitude for the reception, Reinhold Lopatka stressed that Austrian Parliamentarians attach importance to deepening the cooperation with the Parliament of Armenia, development of interaction between the two states in various spheres.

Armenia’s Foreign Minister presented to the guest the commemorative events organized in the whole world within the Armenian Genocide Centennial and their message. In this context Minister Nalbandian mentioned with gratitude the adoption of the Statement by the National Council of Austria on recognition and condemnation of Armenian Genocide, to which Reinhold Lopatka and his party brought their contribution.

During the meeting Armenia - European Union cooperation was discussed.

The sides touched upon regional issues.
