Delegation of Armenia took part in CSTO statutory bodies’ sessions

On September 15, Armenia’s Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian, Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan took part in the joint session of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Council of Ministers of Defense and Committee of Secretaries of the Security Councils of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, held in Dushanbe. Acting Chief of Staff of the National Security Council Aram Tananyan represented the NSC.

Ministers touched upon the process of implementation of decisions adopted during the Collective Security Council session held in December, 2014.

About two dozens of draft documents on the agenda of Collective Security Council session scheduled in the afternoon were approved at the session.

During the meeting issues of coordination of CSTO member-states’ foreign policy, development of military and military-technical cooperation, cyber security, fight against terrorism were covered.

CSTO Secretary-General Nikolai Bordyuzha briefed the session attendees on the current activities of the Organization, the achieved results of the cooperation.

During the session, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Edward Nalbandian presented the priorities of Armenian Chairmanship of the CSTO.

A number of documents on the development of cooperation within the CSTO were signed at the end of the meeting.

At the end of the session, the Chairmanship of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Council of Ministers of Defense and Committee of Secretaries of the Security Councils of the Collective Security Treaty Organization was passed to Armenia.
