Foreign Minister of Armenia attends the 70th Session of the UN General Assembly

On September 25, Edward Nalbandian, the Foreign Minister of Armenia, attended the speech of Pope Francis I in the framework of the 70th Session of the UN General Assembly.

On the same day Edward Nalbandian participated in the opening ceremony of the “Back -2015 UNO’s Development Agenda” summit in the UN headquarter where the UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, German Chancellor, King of Spain, the Presidents of Egypt and Vietnam, and the leaders of many other states and governments delivered speeches. In the summit “New Growth Agenda 2030” a document was adopted which outlines the development guidelines of the world for the upcoming 15 years.

In New York, Edward Nalbandian had a meeting with Børge Brende, the Foreign Minister of Norway.

The Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Norway had a thorough discussion on the possibilities of expanding bilateral cooperation.
The Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Norway exchanged views on several international and regional issues.

Upon the request of the Foreign Minister of Norway the Foreign Minister of Armenia Edward Nalbandian presented the efforts of the international community directed to the peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

The next meeting of the Foreign Minister of Armenia will be with Daniel Mitov, the Foreign Minister of Bulgaria.

During the conversation the sides made reference to the future steps of the development of bilateral relations. In this context the parties attached importance to the organization of high-level visits, the consultations between the Foreign Ministries, the strengthening of cooperation within international organizations.

The Foreign Ministers of Bulgaria and Armenia exchanged views on the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement process. In this context, both sides highlighted the assistance to the efforts of the OSCE Minsk Group.

With the aim to continue the dialogue, Daniel Mitov invited Edward Nalbandian to have an official visit to Bulgaria.
