Cultural event in Greece

On October 4, the renowned “Megaro Mousikis” Concert Hall of Athens hosted the concert of the State Chamber Choir of Armenia in the framework of the Armenian Genocide Centennial Commemoration Events in Greece. The concert was co-organized by the Embassy of Armenia to Greece and the Athens Concert Hall, with the support of the Ministry of Culture of Armenia, under the auspices of the Committee Coordinating Armenian Genocide Centennial Events in Greece.

The concert was attended by a number of heads and members of the diplomatic missions accredited to Greece, representatives of the Government and Parliament, Greek-Armenian community religious, educational and cultural structures, as well as representatives of Greek artistic and social circles.

Under the baton of Merited Worker of Arts and artistic director Robert Mlqeyan the Choir performed selected pieces by Komitas, Halajyan, Schnittke, Barber, as well as unique interpretations of Armenian folk songs arranged by Robert Mlqeyan.

On the initiative of the “Hamazgayin” cultural centre of Thessaloniki two concerts of the State Chamber Choir of Armenia were held in Thessaloniki on October 4 and Oreocastro on October 5. The performances of the State Chamber Choir of Armenia were highly appraised by the Greek and Armenian audience.
