Newly appointed Ambassador of Iran handed over copies of his credentials to FM of Armenia

On October 8, newly appointed Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran Seyyed Kazem Sajjad handed over copies of his credentials to Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian.

Congratulating the Ambassador on his appointment, Minister of Foreign Affairs wished success to him in his mission, expressing hope that Seyyed Kazem Sajjad would contribute to the continuous expansion of friendly Armenian-Iranian cooperation and deepening of mutually beneficial cooperation.

Ambassador Sajjad, thanking for the good wishes, stressed that the Iranian authorities attach great importance to the strengthening of cooperation with friendly Armenia, and assured that during his mission he would spare no effort for the further development of Armenian-Iranian cooperation.

During the meeting, issues on the agenda of bilateral relations were touched upon, i.e. issues of political, economic and cultural cooperation, jointly implemented and long-term projects, reflected on the forthcoming session of Inter-Governmental Commission.

Minister Nalbandian and Ambassador Sajjad exchanged views on cooperation in the field of infrastructure connecting Armenia and Iran in energy field.

Edward Nalbandian attached special importance to the agreement reached upon Iran nuclear program as a significant step for strengthening of stability and cooperation in the region. The Minister expressed hope that this would give renewed impetus to the expansion of trade and economic cooperation between Armenia and friendly Iran, to the implementation of joint projects.
