Meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Niger

On October 8, Minister of Foreign Affairs Edward Nalbandian met Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and African Integration of Niger Aïchatou Kané Boulama, who arrived in Armenia to participate at the 31st session of the Conference of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF).

Welcoming the guest, Minister Nalbandian expressed gratitude for Minister's participation at the Conference of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the International Organization of La Francophonie. The Minister, mentioning symbolic reception of the first delegation arrived from Niger to Armenia, added, that the visit enables discussions on the development of cooperation in different fields between the two states.

Minister Nalbandian expressed condolences to Niger's Foreign Minister over the death of Niger citizens in the incidents during the Hajj in the city of Mecca.

Thanking for the organization of the OIF Conference of Ministers and warm reception, Foreign Minister of Niger expressed satisfaction over her visit to Yerevan and held discussions on the development of cooperation.

On the request of Edward Nalbandian, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and African Integration of Niger presented situation in the region due to Boko Haram and other terrorist groups' activity and steps undertaken against them.

During the meeting, the sides reflected on the formation of legal framework between two states, possibility of establishment of cooperation within international organizations.
