Political consultations between Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Armenia and Estonia

On October 12, next political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Armenia and Estonia were held. The Armenian and Estonian delegations were headed respectively by Garen Nazarian, Armenian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affair, and Mart Laanemäe, the Undersecretary for Europe and Transatlantic Relations Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Estonia.

During the consultations wide range of issues on the agenda of Armenian-Estonian relations was discussed. The sides touched upon the perspectives of promoting the trade and economic ties and on-going mutually beneficial sectoral cooperation. They attached importance to the cooperation within international organizations, as well as outlined the necessity of organizing mutual visits on high level, holding regular political consultation and expanding the legal framework.

Current stage and prospects of the Armenia-European Union relations, as well as Armenian-Estonian cooperation within the frameworks of Eastern Partnership were discussed.

The sides exchanged views on a range of regional and international issues. Deputy Minister Nazarian presented to his Estonian counterpart the consequences of recent increase of the Azerbaijani provocations, as well as developments in the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process.
