On the sidelines of the 31st session of the Conference of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the international Organization of La Francophonie (OIF) Garen Nazarian, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia met Gorges Martin, Deputy State Secretary of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of the Swiss Confederation.

Welcoming the head of the Swiss delegation, Deputy FM Nazarian expressed gratitude for the participation at the OIF Ministerial Conference, emphasizing good opportunities it provided for the discussion of the agenda of bilateral ties.

Further development of political dialogue between states, as well as importance to cooperate within international organizations and inter-parliamentary assemblies were reflected on. Possibilities of expansion of bilateral legal framework was discussed.

At the meeting the sides touched upon developments unfolding in the region, particularly, migrant exodus caused by the Syrian crises.

Deputy FM Nazarian presented approaches of the Armenian side on Baku’s steps on deliberate escalation of situation along the Line of Contact with Nagorno-Karabakh and along Armenian-Azerbaijani border.

Considering the depth of bilateral relations, the sides agreed upon holding of regular political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs at the beginning of the following year.
