Meeting of Garen Nazarian, Deputy Foreign Minister and delegation of Friedrich Ebert Stiftung

On November 17, Garen Nazarian, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia received the delegation of Friedrich Ebert Stiftung, headed by Dr. Reinhard Krumm, Head of the FES Department of Central and Eastern Europe.

Congratulating on 20th anniversary of Stiftung’s activities in the South Caucasus, Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia attached importance to the mission of the Foundation, aimed at promotion of democracy, peace and social equality in the region through political dialogue, education and research.

The sides discussed Armenia’s approaches to regional cooperation, reflected on various integration processes, as well as perspectives of Armenia-European Union relations.

At the request of Dr. Reinhard Krumm, Garen Nazarian presented mediation efforts of the OSCE Minsk Group in the Nagorno-Karabakh settlement and the implications that continuous provocative activity of the Azerbaijani side along the Line of Contact and border provinces have on the negotiation process.

During the meeting, representatives of the Stiftung also touched upon various aspects and forthcoming projects of their activity in the region.
