International film festival dedicated to the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide in Toronto

On November 16-22, the Hamazkayin Armenian Educational and Cultural Union (Toronto) with the support of the Embassy of Armenia to Canada, organized the 10th “Pomegranate” international annual film festival in Toronto, which was dedicated to the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide.

H.E. Armen Yeganian, Ambassador of Armenia to Canada, prominent directors and actors representing different countries of the world, social-political figures of Canada, numerous representatives of media and Armenian community.

In his welcoming remarks, Ambassador Yeganian stressed that 10th film is significant because it takes place in 2015, coinciding with the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide. Ambassador Yeganian thanked everyone involved the organization of the festival and on behalf of the Embassy presented a special award to the organizing committee of the festival.

Within the framework of the “Pomegranate” festival Fatih Akin’s movie “The Cut” was screened at the “Regent” theatre of Totonto.
