Newly-appointed Ambassador of Egypt handed over copies of his credentials to Edward Nalbandian

On December 23, Tareq Ebrahim Mohamed Maaty, newly-appointed Ambassador of Arab Republic of Egypt handed over copies of his credentials to Edward Nalbandian, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia.

Congratulating the Ambassador on the appointment, Foreign Minister of Armenia expressed hope that he would have his input in further deepening of traditionally friendly relations between Armenia and Egypt. Edward Nalbandian wished success to Ambassador Maaty in his mission.

In his turn, thanking for good wishes, the Ambassador of Egypt mentioned that Egypt attaches great importance to further tightening of relations and development of cooperation with Armenia.

Foreign Minister of Armenia and Ambassador of Egypt reflected on the issues on the agenda of Armenian-Egyptian cooperation. They attached significance to the calling of a session of Armenia-Egypt Inter-Governmental Committee next year. Both stressed bridging part of the Armenian community in Egypt of two states and two peoples.

Minister Nalbandian and Ambassador Maaty exchanged thoughts on pressing international and regional issues, discussed situation unfolded in the Middle East. The sides shared the view that coordination of the international efforts is an imperative in effective fight against terrorism.
