Foreign Minister meets with the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs

13 February, 2016

On February 13, Edward Nalbandian, Foreign Minister of Armenia, while on a working visit to Munich, held a meeting with the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs, Igor Popov, James Warlick, Pierre Andrieu and Andrzej Kasprzyk, Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman in Office.

The discussions were continued on the peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

Referring to the negotiation process Edward Nalbandian emphasized: “By ignoring the targeted appeals of the international community Azerbaijan continues the drastic violations of trilateral agreements on the establishment and consolidation of ceasefire regime, refuses the creation of mechanism for investigation of incidents, undertakes attempts to shift the discussions on the settlement of the issue into other formats, criticizes the Minsk Group Co-Chairmanship format. All these proves that Baku spares no efforts to undermine the settlement process. Furthermore, those actions of the Azerbaijani side, as well as the public refusal to meet with the Co-Chairs contribute to the maintenance of status-quo, to which Co-Chairs and Armenia have always opposed.”

Edward Nalbandian reaffirmed that Armenia will continue joint efforts with the Co-Chair countries towards the peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh issue exclusively by the peaceful means.
