On March 21, session of the Armenian National Commission for UNESCO took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, chaired by President of the Commission, Minister of Foreign Affairs Edward Nalbandian.

Minister of Culture Hasmik Poghosyan, Minister of Education and Science Levon Mkrtchyan, Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs Gabriel Ghazaryan, Minister of Nature Protection Aramayis Grigoryan, President of the National Academy of Science of Armenia Radik Martirosyan, representatives of the offices of RA President and Government, as well as those of Yerevan City Hall and Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin attended the session.

In his remarks, Edward Nalbandian summarized the works of the National Commission for UNESCO conducted last year, reflected on the deepening of Armenia's engagement in UNESCO, and touched upon future projects.

Minister of Culture Hasmik Poghosyan presented to the members of the National Commission for UNESCO cooperation in the field of culture, future initiatives.

Members of the Armenian National Commission for UNESCO discussed issues of inter-agency cooperation, fulfillment of obligations, stipulated by the membership of the country in the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, more active involvement of Armenia within UNESCO.
