The newly-appointed Ambassador of India handed over the copies of his credentials to Minister of Foreign Affairs

On June 16, Edward Nalbandian, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, received Yogeshwar Sangwan, newly-appointed Ambassador of India to Armenia, on the occasion of handing over the copies of his credentials.

Congratulating the Ambassador on his appointment, Minister Nalbandian wished him a success in his mission and expressed hope that Ambassador Sangwan make his important input in the further deepening of friendly relations between Armenia and India.

The Ambassador of India stressed that his country is greatly interested in the further enhancement of relations and development of cooperation with Armenia in political, economic and cultural fields, and during his mission he will spare no efforts to implement those goals.

During the meeting, Minister Nalbandian and Ambassador Sangwan exchange thoughts on a number of issues on bilateral agenda, attached importance to organization of high-level visits, deepening of cooperation within international organizations, holding of consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, expansion of legal framework, development of trade and economic cooperation, intensification of cultural exchanges.

Minister Nalbandian presented to the Ambassador of India the consequences of aggression unleashed by Azerbaijan against Nagorno-Karabakh in early April and efforts of Armenia and the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs aimed at overcoming them.
