On October 8, Edward Nalbandian, the Foreign Minister of Armenia, received in Yerevan the representative delegation headed by Anne Hidalgo, the Mayor of Paris.

Welcoming the guests, Minister Nalbandyan noted that he is glad to host in Yerevan Anne Hidalgo, an old friend of Armenia, and the members of delegation accompanying her. “It is a great pleasure to welcome in Yerevan the representative delegation headed by you, the structure of which symbolizes the solidarity that exists among the French political powers towards the Armenian-French friendship,” said the Foreign Minister of Armenia.

Thanking for the warm reception, the Mayor of Paris outlined that it is a pleasure to be in Armenia on the occasion of the Yerevan day celebrations, while using this opportunity to discuss the steps aimed at the further development of ties and cooperation between the two sister cities.

In the course of talks, the sides touched upon the issues related to the expansion of the Armenian-French privileged relations, the decentralized cooperation between the two countries.

“Your sincere devotion to the Armenian-French friendship has always been reflected throughout your activity and it’s a pleasure that we have crossed some part of that road together. We remember with special gratitude the fact that last year, on April 24, you personally turned off the lights of the Eiffel Tower in memory of the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide”, emphasized Edward Nalbandian.

Edward Nalbandian awarded Anne Hidalgo with the MFA Medal of Honor in recognition of her important input in strengthening the Armenian-French relations and cooperation between Yerevan and Paris.
