On October 17, Armenian Ambassador to Austria Arman Kirakossian met the President of the Austrian Academy of Sciences Dr. Anton Zeilinger.

During the meeting Ambassador Kirakossian shortly presented the history of the foundation of the National Academy of Armenia, its achievements and contributions to the national as well as world science. in the course of 80 years of operation.

In his turn, the President of the Austrian Academy Dr. Zeilinger spoke about his more than 200-years-old scientific institution, then turned the spotlight on the scientific aspects of its structure and broad international cooperation.

Both parties stressed the need for extension of cooperation between the Academies of Sciences of Armenia and Austria, exchange of expertise and enhancing scientific perspectives, as well as establishment and strengthening of cooperation ties between sectoral departments.

At the conclusion Ambassador Kirakossian on behalf of the leadership of the Armenian Academy, suggested Dr. Zeilinger to visit Armenia in order to meet in person with his Armenian colleagues and to get acquainted with the activities of the Armenian Academy, as well as to discuss the future course of cooperation.
