TV-bridge at the Foreign Ministry of Armenia for Armenian peacekeepers and their family members

On October 15, a traditional TV-bridge for the Armenian peacekeepers participating in the peacekeeping operations in Kosovo and Afghanistan and their family members was organized at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia on the sidelines of the “NATO week” events launched within the framework of the Armenia-NATO Individual Partnership Action Plan /IPAP/.

In his welcoming remarks Ashot Hovakimian, Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia, attached importance to the participation of Armenian peacekeepers and their contribution to the establishment of international peace and security and thanked the Armenian peacekeepers and their family members for their devotion.

Lieutenant-General Movses Hakobyan, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Armenia, welcomed and expressed gratitude to the Armenian peacekeepers participating in the peacekeeping operations in Kosovo and Afghanistan, as well as, attached importance to their role in ensuring international peace and security. General Hakobyan noted that the participation of Armenian peacekeepers in those missions contributes to the increase of prestige of Armenia in international arena and to the enhancement of Armenia’s security, as well.

Richard M. Mills Jr., Ambassador of the USA to Armenia, and Mathias Kissler, Ambassador of Germany to Armenia, delivered their greetings and good wishes.

Welcoming remarks addressed to the Armenian peacekeepers were also made by Major General Artur Simonyan, Commander of Peacekeeping brigade of the Armed Forces of Armenia.

Armenian peacekeepers, in their turn, welcomed and sent words of gratitude from Afghanistan and Kosovo.
