The Deputy Foreign Minister Armen Papikyan received Kim Hyun Joong, the newly-appointed Ambassador of DPRK to Armenia

On November 21, Armen Papikyan, Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia, received Kim Hyun Joong, the newly appointed Ambassador of Democratic People's Republic of Korea to Armenia (residence in Moscow) on the occasion of presenting the copies of his credentials.

Congratulating the Ambassador on the appointment, Deputy Foreign Minister Papikyan wished Kim Hyun Joong success in his mission.

Expressing gratitude for the reception and good wishes, the Ambassador noted that DPRK is interested in developing relations with Armenia, particularly, in the areas of trade, economy, culture and sports.

The Ambassador briefed the Deputy Minister on the situation in the Korean peninsula, the latest developments around the nuclear program of North Korea and perspectives on the solution of the issue. The Deputy Foreign Minister presented to the Ambassador the principled approach of Armenia that all the conflicts and existing issues should be resolved exclusively by peaceful means through negotiations.

The interlocutors exchanged views on the international and bilateral issues of mutual interest.
