Meeting of Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Mali

On November 26, on the sidelines of the La Francophonie Summit being held in the capital of Madagascar, Edward Nalbandian, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, had a meeting with Abdoulaye Diop, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and African Integration of Mali.

During the meeting the ways of developing bilateral relations were discussed, such as the intensification of political dialogue, formation of legal framework, strengthening of cooperation within international institutions, possibilities for collaboration in the area of trade and economy.

The Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Armenia and Mali touched upon the activity of the International Organization of La Francophonie, agenda issues of the XVI Summit of the Organization. Within this context the Foreign Minister of Mali noted that Armenia’s active involvement in the La Francophonie is visible to the member states of the Organization and outlined the high level of organization of the OIF’s last year Ministerial Conference in Yerevan.

Minister Diop presented the efforts aimed at the maintenance of security and stability in Mali and highlighted the importance of Armenia’s participation in the UN peacekeeping mission.
