“Honourable President of the 16th Summit of La Francophonie,

Excellencies,
Ladies and Gentlemen Heads of States, Governments and Delegations,
Mrs. Secretary-General,
Ladies and Gentlemen,

I would like to express our gratitude for your decision to hold the 17th Summit of La Francophonie in Armenia. It is a great honour for Armenia and the Armenian people to host this high-level meeting of La Francophonie.

This decision is an evidence of trust and solidarity towards our country, which have had throughout the years of its membership in the Organisation an important contribution in spreading the Francophonie values.

The decision is also an important message to francophone countries of Central and Eastern Europe, since the upcoming Summit will present an opportunity to highlight once again the value of La Francophonie in our region.

We are determined to ensure the success of this important event of La Francophonie. Our country will make all efforts to hold it on a high level, thus celebrating the 10th anniversary of Armenia’s membership to the Organisation as well. Today we undertake a commitment to organise in a best way the 17th Summit of La Francophonie.”

The results of the Summit were presented at the joint press conference of the President of Madagascar, Prime Minister of Canada, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia and the Secretary-General of La Francophonie.
