Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia met with Director-General for American and European Affairs of MFA of Indonesia

On December 8, on the sidelines of the IX Bali Democratic Forum held in Indonesian city of Nusa Dua, Armen Papikyan, Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia, met with Muhammad Anshor, Director-General for American and European Affairs of MFA of Indonesia.

During the meeting the sides discussed in details numerous issues of the bilateral agenda, as well as the process of implementation of agreements reached during the visit of Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian to Jakarta on November 1. The sides reiterated the importance of further deepening and strengthening bilateral relations and welcomed the existing positive dynamics.

Within the context of perspectives of enhancing bilateral cooperation, the importance of the activities of the Embassy of Armenia in Jakarta was highlighted. In this regard, Deputy Minister Papikyan expressed hope that based on the principle of reciprocity the Indonesian authorities will consider the opening of the Indonesian Embassy in Yerevan in the near future and added that the move will give a new impetus to the development of bilateral relations.

In his turn Mohammed Anshorn thanked Deputy Minister for participating in the IX Bali Democratic Forum and noted that the meeting provides a good opportunity to discuss issues of bilateral agenda.

The interlocutors touched upon the situation in the Middle East and the ongoing processes in the Southeast Asia region.
