Opening of an exhibition at the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia to Canada, dedicated to the 25th Anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Armenia

On December 15th, opening ceremony of an exhibition called "25 Paintings of Modern Armenian Artists" dedicated to the 25th Anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Armenia took place at the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia to Canada.

Canadian political figures, diplomats, artists, journalists, numerous representatives of the Armenian community attended the event.

In his opening speech at the ceremony Armen Yeganian, the Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to Canada, presented to the guests the exhibited paintings. The Ambassador mentioned that the 25 paintings are being symbolically presented on the occasion of the 25th Anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Armenia. He further emphasized that such cultural events play an important role in raising the awareness about the Armenian culture in Canada.

Reference: On the occasion of the 25th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Armenia, the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia to Canada received a number of paintings and sculptures by renowned modern Armenian artists such as Yuroz, Vahram Davtian, Vahan Roumelian, Suren Vosganian, David D, Arto Tchakmakjian, Berdj Tchakedjian, Megerdich Darakjian for a long term display at the Embassy premises. This project was completed through the assistance of Canadian-Armenian philanthropists Levon and Anna Afeyan, and generous support of «Noah's Ark» Art Gallery Director Movses Hergelian.
