25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Armenia and Australia

Foreign Ministers Edward Nalbandian and Julie Bishop exchanged messages on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Armenia and the Commonwealth of Australia.

In his message Minister Edward Nalbandian mentions that since the beginning of interstate relations our countries have managed to establish a strong and genuine cooperation based on mutual trust and respect. The Foreign Minister of Armenia expresses confidence over the existing great potential for development of relations, which could be realised through the expansion of political dialogue, people-to-people contacts, development of legal framework.

In her message Minister Julie Bishop notes that during the last 25 years Armenia and Australia have enjoyed warm and friendly relations based on solid people-to-people contacts and common interests towards the issues of international peace and security. Foreign Minister of Australia further notes that our joint efforts have contributed to the development of an extensive political, economic, humanitarian and environmental agenda both within bilateral and multilateral formats.

The two Ministers commend the established close cooperation within international organizations.

Edward Nalbandian and Julie Bishop express their great appreciation for the role of the Australian Armenians in the development of relations between the two countries.

Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Australia express confidence that through joint efforts the friendly relations between two countries will continue to expand and deepen.
