Meeting of Foreign Ministers of the Republic of Armenia and the Sultanate of Oman

On February 17, Edward Nalbandian, Foreign Minister of Armenia, had a meeting with Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah, Foreign Minister of Oman.

Edward Nalbandian noted that he recalls with warmth his visit to Oman back in 1993 as a first special envoy of the President of the Republic of Armenia and meetings he had in Muscat. Minister Nalbandian emphasized that the strengthening of cooperation with Arab countries has an important place on the foreign policy agenda of Armenia.

Minister bin Alawi bin Abdullah emphasized that Oman is interested in developing with Armenia a mutually beneficial cooperation in various spheres.

The interlocutors agreed that it is necessary to undertake maximum efforts to foster the cooperation in the sphere of economy and trade. The need for development of the legal framework was emphasized.

The sides discussed the issues related to holding regular consultations between the two Foreign Ministries, as well as promoting cooperation within international organizations.

Edward Nalbandian and Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah touched upon urgent international issues. The sides outlined the need for resolving problems exclusively through peaceful means and negotiations.
