On February 23, Deputy Foreign Minister Robert Harutyunyan received Shankar Shinde, the Vice Chairman of the Federation of Freight Forwarders' Associations of India.

During the meeting the interlocutors discussed the perspectives of deepening and expanding bilateral cooperation in the area of trade and economy. In particular, they talked about possibility of organising cargo transportations from India to Armenia as a transit country.

The meeting was attended also by Yogeshwar Sangwan, Ambassador of India to Armenia.

In the framework of the visit Shankar Shinde had meetings in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology of Armenia, in "South Caucasus Railway" CJSC, and in other structures.

Shankar Shinde is in Armenia upon the invitation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, in line with the agreement reached during the 7th session of the Armenian-Indian commission on trade, economy, technology, education and culture held in Yerevan in 2016.
