On February 23, Edward Nalbandian, Foreign Minister of Armenia, received Ambassador Günter Bächler, Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office for the South Caucasus.

Minister Nalbandian and Ambassador Bächler touched upon the forthcoming visit of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office to the region.

The interlocutors discussed in details the issues related to the OSCE involvement in the South Caucasus, underlining the importance of the activity of the OSCE Office in Yerevan - the only office in the region. In this context, Foreign Minister of Armenia noted that the steps taken against the OSCE Office in Yerevan are steps directed against the OSCE.

Minister Nalbandian informed of the preparatory work for the parliamentary elections to be held in Armenia.

Edward Nalbandian and Günter Bächler touched upon the efforts exerted by Armenia and the OSCE Minsk group Co-Chair countries towards the creation of appropriate conditions for the advancement of the Karabakh settlement process.
